Pakistan and Denmark Sign Landmark Agreement for Green Investments in Sustainable Ports and Infrastructure
Sovereign Facilitation Impact

With the unwavering support of the SIFC, Denmark and Pakistan have signed a landmark agreement to foster green investments in sustainable ports and infrastructure, opening new avenues for collaboration.

The agreement paves the way for MAERSK, a leading global shipping company, to enter Pakistan's port business.

Given Pakistan's vulnerability to climate change, the partnership focuses on investments in climate-resilient infrastructure, renewable energy, and energy conservation.

The agreement was signed by Denmark’s Minister for Industry, Business and Financial Affairs, Morten BΓΈdskov, and Pakistan's Minister for Maritime Affairs, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh. Ministers of Finance, Industries & Production, and Commerce, along with the DG SIFC, attended the signing ceremony.

Denmark has expressed readiness to partner with Pakistan in its green transformation, aiming to boost sustainable development in critical sectors.
